Entyvio (vedolizumab) is used in adults for the treatment of moderate to severe Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Disease.
Entyio works by preventing an excess of white blood cells from entering the GI tract. This helps to control inflammation and symptoms of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
Entyvio is administered intravenously over a period of about 30 minutes. An observation time may be required after the infusion.
Entyvio is usually given every 8 weeks. Infusions may be given more frequently at the start of therapy, known as the induction period.
The most common side effects of Entyvio include: common cold, headache, joint pain, nausea, fever, infections of the nose and throat, tiredness, cough, bronchitis, flu, back pain, rash, itching, sinus infection, throat pain, and pain in extremities.
For a full list of potential side effects, please see the Important Safety Information and Medication Guide on the Entyvio website.
