Feraheme is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in adult patients
who have intolerance to oral iron or have had unsatisfactory response to oral iron
who have chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Feraheme is an iron replacement given in 2 doses. The initial 510 mg dose is then followed by a second 510 mg dose 3 to 8 days later.
One Feraheme infusion takes about 30 minutes.
After your infusion, your healthcare provider will monitor you for signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction—usually for about 30 minutes.
The most common adverse reactions were headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, back pain.
