Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko) is an add-on, prescription maintenance treatment for patients aged 12 years and older with severe asthma.
TEZSPIRE works to target and block the alarmins released by your lungs by asthma triggers. The treatment helps to proactively reduce the inflammation which can lead to asthma attacks. TEZSPIRE is an injection that’s administered once every 4 weeks.
The most common side effects of Tezspire include pharyngitis, arthralgia (joint pain), and back pain.
Tezspire can cause serious side effects including hypersensitivity reactions such as a rash and/or allergic conjunctivitis. These reactions can occur within hours or may have a delayed onset where symptoms could develop days after your injection.
Avoid abrupt reduction or discontinuation of systemic and/or inhaled corticosteroids. A reduction in your corticosteroid dose could be associated with systemic withdrawal symptoms and/or worsen conditions previously suppressed by systemic corticosteroid therapy. Your doctor may decrease corticosteroids gradually, when deemed appropriate.
